We need to be able to export reports as editable WORD and not RTF as rtf destroys all the formatting. Vista allows reports to export as editable Excel but not editable word. There is an xlsx option but only a doc which is not editable.
Word Templates are not an option as the data sources are very limited and you have much more options in a crystal report.

I know this is a work around, but if you save it as a pdf then from within word, open that PDF, it will convert it to an editable copy.
Would it not be easier to just upgrade Vista to support a more recent run-time?
Currently Vista running on our current SQL box over LAN is fast, Vista on VRL is slow. It's also not accessible internally by default. Plus, VRL doesn't work with any non-Crystal reports so all of our pdfs we've uploaded as "other" types in the report modules aren't accessible.
Good suggestion. Quick question though: why is VRL not an option for users in the office?
