We are in the middle of a project that requires us to pull copies of invoices based on specific criteria and we are unable to do that with the standard fields available on the DM Attachment Index Search program. For us in this case specifically we want to be able to pull all items coded with Use Tax in AP, but it would be a major help if the ability to set custom filters based on fields that already exist (standard fields or UD).

We do recognize the need for a more modern document storage solution than what's currently offered in Vista, that can give you more customization options and flexibility. This is a long term goal that we would like to deliver in TC1 as we work on the next generation of ERP. We do realize that customers want something quicker than that, however, this is not an easy fix given the current architecture of document management in Vista and would require a complete redesign of the current solution to provide the flexibility you are asking for.
Currently Vista offers an ability to add 5 custom indexes in DM Attachment Index Search, these can be linked to any custom or standard field in Vista. If we use an example you provided, you can potentially link one of 5 available custom fields to capture Tax Code and and/or Tax Type in AP. I know, 5 fields across the database is not much, but is this an option you are willing to explore? And, if so, would increasing 5 custom fields to 25 make a difference for you as we work on a better long term solution?
