Currently when you do a lookup in any field the lookup brings up both active and inactive results which can cause confusion for the person selecting the result. The idea would be to only display active results in the lookup. Should a person need to see inactive results they can go and lookup in the corresponding module. For example in SM Work Orders if customer site ABC is inactive don't show the inactive site when I do a lookup in the "site" field. If I need to see this site I can always go to SM Service Sites to see it.

Yes, one can customize (duplicate then modify) lookups, but that takes work for every single lookup. Then you must go through each form where that lookup is referenced and assign it with proper arguments.
As a whole, I think Viewpoint would benefit from an 'Active Only' toggle in ALL lookups. When toggled ON, it shows only 'Active' lines (in the database these are usually named Active or ActiveYN). When OFF, it shows everything.
Chad,
As Towner mentioned you could fix this on your own. I've posted the steps for a custom Site Lookup on my blog, see my site link below. If you don't have the UD Module, I could create a SQL script for you.

Chad, you can customize your lookups to do this. It's not hard once you get the hang of it.
