Update Payroll processing to an easy, user friendly, software guided process that completes the payroll with everything processed automatically. I am hiring a new Payroll Manager and would love to have a more condensed process to train them with.
Our payroll instructions are 5 pages long. Certain steps should be done automatically, for example, leave processing. It should automatically process, with out having to post a batch. Should not be a separate step. Same with AP Update. This program should flow from one step to another without having to worry if one is done out of sequence. Also with electronic reporting. Can we not get this to create the files needed to file electronically and have the system automatically file with the Federal or State? Been with Viewpoint since 2001. Also with Trimble.

It is actually the IRS / EFTPS website that doesn't allow for auto-payment of fed taxes. It doesn't even allow for EIN numbers to be saved by the form, they have to be re-typed each time (at least via Chrome).
The complexity is bred by the flexibility of the system to report costs in different fashions, for different customers. I regularly use 9 pages of instructions, primarily so I don't have to try to remember each step.
