We reimburse expenses through Payroll, not through AP. Occasionally one of our guys will have an equipment expense (fuel if the WEX card is down, truck repair, tire replacement, etc.). Vista currently does not allow the posting of an equipment cost to a piece of equipment (transaction type 4 in AP). It seems to me it would follow the same logic as posting to a job. And we are able to post reimbursement expenses to a job through Payroll. With a job you need the job number, phase code, and cost type. In the same sense, to post an expense to equipment you need the equipment number, cost code, and cost type. With such similar processes of posting to a job or to a piece of equipment, we should be able to post costs to equipment through Payroll.

Agree. If I can record equipment usage through payroll, process employee reimbursements through payroll, then it makes since that I should be able to process employee reimbursements for the piece of equipment used.
