I completely agree with the comment from Gene Fandel about writing our own reports, which I have had to do multiple times since we came onto the system in January, 2019. However, the biggest problem that I/we have encountered and which affect your own support people, is the fact that reports like the PR to GL Reconciliation report does not show individual transactions if they net to $0. I have spent hours, and your support people have wasted a considerable amount of time, because we could not see that certain PR benefits were sending both the credit and the debit to the same GL account because of a misunderstanding created by our trainer. Because those netted to $0 they were not being shown, and we didn't know that they were even being addressed by the system until we had dug into things more deeply.
If not for your customers' sake, you should address this problem for your support techs because you would waste less of their time and fewer of your dollars.
ALSO IMPORTANT: this is not GAAP compliant according to our auditors when we cannot prove that transactions are happening based on system reports.
The one we miss most (and created with much hair pulling) was a PAYROLL REGISTER that allowed a RANGE of dates, not just a specific payroll date.
The other one we created which should have come with the program was PAYSTUBS showing FRINGES. I think adding those two would greatly enhance Viewpoint's payroll reports.
In addition to this, I would like if we could pull by date range rather than period end range. For example, I need workers comp reports for a time period (11/9/16-11/9/17). I would like to put in those date ranges rather than a month or period ending date.
One or any of the following reports that could be VP standard would be fabulous:
* A report similar to the attached showing no cost (page 3), just the hours would be fabulous.
* A report that shows hours per employee per day including fringe benefits would also help without having to run a certified payroll report to find the information, see attachment page 1.
* A report that shows employee name, hours worked per day per project, race, and ethnicity

Viewpoint is nearly useless, without a Crystal report writer. It helps even more for speed if you learn SQL.
The program only has value if your can easily get the information you need out of the software. Viewpoint requires you to either learn programming, hire a report writer or hire Viewpoint to customize your reports.
