Most accounting programs I have used have a function to either save a PDF to a specific invoice so it is able to be pulled up at any time without having to go through files to find hard copies. I have also used systems that allow you to send the invoices to an external scanning company which you would attach to a barcode and then they would be matched up when the disc is uploaded into the system. This would be extremely useful as we often short pay invoices due to incorrect charges and it would be much easier if I could just pull up a copy with the project managers notes.
