AR Invoice Entry only allows for the coding of the revenue for the sale to:
1) Contract
2) Material
3) Other
There are times when construction companies will rent out their equipment to other non-affiliated companies. To get this revenue to the equipment, you must first do an EM Usage Posting entry offsetting to a clearing account, then do an AR Invoice Entry to the customer and offset to that same clearing account.
This two-step process would be eliminated if you could code revenue for equipment rentals directly to the piece of equipment through AR Invoice Entry.

Similarly, some customers sell Inventory over the counter...and would need only one step if MATERIAL lines entered through AR Invoice Entry actually decremented Inventory.
