when I receive an invoice and I want to know if it has been processed and paid, I don't want to look in drilldown through all the invoices to find this ONE invoice #... I just want to enter the one invoice # 123456 and see it and know what is its history. This is very useful specially when you are new to the company and you are trying to familiarize yourself to the processes that will make things easier and faster for you to accomplish your job.

If you know someone that can do Crystal reports, this can be accomplished by copying the AP Vendor Drilldown report (to make it custom) and then adding the APRef field as a parameter so it is on the report launcher to look up a specific invoice number. It can be tricky to work with a "drilldown" report, but it is possible. We went live on Viewpoint Jan 2016 and this was one of our first custom reports. Our accounts payable person says she uses this custom report to look up by invoice number multiple times a day.
