For the new 2020 W-4 set up, VP Documentation and training says it is best practice to set the Regular and Add'l exemptions to null. It is actually a requirement because it does not calculate correctly if it defaults to 0 (zero) as it does now. At Summit, we did a system override to default the fields to null and wanted to suggest that Vista did the same for the application.
