We would find it useful to remove any special characters in a sort name upon saving a new record. We have found that when an AR Customers name contains a special character like "Shops @ Cottonwood" that it is included in the sort name as well. The only problem is that when the sort name contains a special character it omits the record from the AR Aging report which is extremely problematic.
While we noticed this only on AR I imagine since the sort name parameter is being used throughout other various Vista reports this would likely cause an issue with other reports as well.
The Description should be able to include the special character but the sort name should omit if at all possible.
