When working on month end close and making changes to sub ledgers we need to periodically enter an AP/AR/JB entry, so we open ledgers up. This allows others to enter when they should be done. It would be helpful to lock users out of making entries in a prior period while still allowing the people closing the books to make entries without worrying about who else might make a prior period entry.
