We have instance where, per contract, we are required to pay overtime to an employee regardless of how many hours they work per week. In one instance we have an employee that was paid 81 hours of overtime and 0 hours of straight time for a week. The FLSA report does not calculate the Weighted Average Regular Rate because the straight time hours equal 0, and it does not calculate the Premium Amount based upon the 41 premium hours. In accordance with FLSA guidelines for premium hours calculations, the first 40 hours worked should be considered straight time and the balance is overtime. This is not only a problem with the report but also reflects the calculations for Box 14 on the W-2. The highlighted item in the attached screen snip illustrates the problem. This needs to be corrected before we can report taxes for 2026.
