There was a large effort to support Crystal reports over Viewpoint Remote Link (VRL), as well as a request from many of our customers to support a set of SoX requirements around controlling access to Vista accounts in a shared computing environment. In addition, there are a number of other aspects to this that are tied to the way that our application performs authentication - I cannot share those specific details on a public forum. As such, please contact me directly for more information.
There is a possible way for us to not force a logout after password change, and I have created an effort to look into this. However, based on the complexity, there are no guarantees here - we'll do our best.
