Email would be a good option, except for the simple fact that if emails aren't working at all (had some issues earlier in the year), you wouldn't see anything.

There used to be a way to message individual users? I can only see Immediate Message in VA Site Settings, but in VA User Profile, have an additional checkbox to receive email failure notices. Then ping those users directly within Vista.

On top of this, in situations like PR Pay Stub Delivery,  instead of saying "Email Sent" change it to "Emails Added To Queue" as it is a bit deceiving.

For user initiated email requests, something similar to how you manage uploads with a field in the task bar. It could show up with "Emails Not Sent" then when you click on it, it shows all the errors and an option to clear or resend.

I was going to write a notifier to email myself when I had any notifier failures...but lately I have been getting an error trying to set up a job (have a support ticket out).  So, I created an SSRS report thinking I could email it.  Email was not an option on the Reports site.  That would also be a nice-to-have.

I agree with Rini, notification to the users inbox would be best IMHO.

I would say we should see them in our inbox.  We can be auto cc'd on items that go out so why not be able to have an email failed like any failed email.  Or in the distribution audit have some kind of message or error that shows up linked to that?

This is interesting. How would you imagine consuming these errors? Where would you see them? What format?

It's critical to know if an email transaction has failed - Invoices to AR Customers, Remittance advice to Vendors, Paystubs to employees, PO's to PM Firms etc.  The system needs to be proactive with a notification to a users inbox, rather than the user having to be reactive, once we realise there is a problem.
