We are legally allowed to reduce the fringe and software will not currently allow us to set this up, when the liability is a rate of gross.

This definitely needs to be automated within the software.
Manually adjusting individual employee 401k fringe is not a feasible workaround. Please make the adjustment.
How has this not been added to Vista yet in the 4 years since this was asked for? I don't even want to think how much this has cost the Vista customer base in double-paid benefits over the life of the product, we shouldn't have to work outside of the box for something like this
This can be accomplished by setting up a "dummy" fringe and a reversal of the"dummy" fringe that are an hourly rate equal to the rate of gross dived by total hours. This has to be adjusted manually or by a stored procedure during the payroll process. The dummy fringe can then be used to reduce the cash fringe or other capped fringes. I agree it would be better if the software could do the conversion automatically, but the workaround isn't overly complicated. I've seen at least 3 postings for this topic, you may want to go vote for the other versions of this topic.
