We used the CM Positive Pay Template to create a Crystal report to create a file to upload to our bank for checks we process. The file now must include the employee name or vendor name that is being paid. The bank requires this to be identical to what is printed on the check. If it is not identical the bank kicks it back to us for verification. This CMDT description field is only 30 characters and the vendor name allows up to 60 characters. For PR the CMDT description field puts the employees last name, first name middle initial which is not how the PR checks print. Ideally the description field should hold the name as it is printed on the checks.

We had same issue when bank started checking payee name. Had to create custom report to link back to APVM. While it works we won't have access to changes made to stock Viewpoint report. If you are not going to put vendor name in CMDT at least put vendor group and number and link to APVM please.
We had the same problem with Wells Fargo. For payroll checks I ultimately had to join to PREH using the CMDT.Employee and cobble together the Payee with the various Employee name parts.
If Wells Fargo is requiring this, I imagine it might start impacting more people.
