Once a job in closed out a new customer has to be created to perform a basic service call. A new service site has to be entered along with all the serviceable items, model numbers, serial numbers, warranty date, etc. This causes an extreme double data entry. Moving over the service site from the job to the customer would fix this issue.

The functionality to convert a Job Service Site to a Customer Service Site using the option on SM Service Sites under the Tasks icon already exists. You have to add a customer but all the serviceable items and history continue to be linked to the service site. Would that resolve your issue?
Agreed on this functionality. We have a large service division and several customers who we work with at multiple sites/locations or as you pointed out - it starts out as a job and than converts to a service account. Having the ability to flip it to a Service Site would be ideal.
