We often have contracts with multiple jobs (with different departments) under them. Because JC Contract Master requires a department code, and the way jobs inherit the contract department we end up with the Contract, Job A and Job B all being forced to having the same department when in reality, Job B is a different department.
It would be nice if the department in JC Contract Master wasn't required and we could leave it blank for multi department contracts. Then allow Jobs under them to set the department independently.
Note, I'm aware that Contract Items can have different departments, and that's how we are working around this issue. But it's just dumb that if I'm looking at a job, I can't trust it's department, I have to go find the contract, then go find what items within that contract apply to that job, just to find the department.
