I'd like to see support for SQL Server v.Next, so we can choose the platform of our choice for the DB.

Agreed. For us, it is more about supporting SQL Server 2017 in general, not necessarily on Linux. The improvements to the database engine and supporting features make this a compelling upgrade. Not really looking forward to > 2016 just to have 2017 support released. Is there a Vista release this is planned for?
