Since this is the Construction Industry, it would be helpful to be able to allocate Phase/Costs to the 16 CSI Divisions. I know that we can add a UD field to this, however, we'd have to add it to every form, report etc. Would be very beneficial if it was setup throughout VP.
We've setup our Phases to use the Division as the beginning of each code (01-16) however we then have to create calculate fields and formulas in order to group by them etc.

16 Divisions was updated in 2004 (12+ years ago!) to 50 Divisions. All of our GE's now use 50. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/50_Divisions
I also think the whole PHASE convention needs an overhaul. There really is no way to GROUP phases by default. Just Contract Item -> Phase -> Cost Type. We use FOUR custom fields in the Job Phase table to accommodate our out system of grouping, but would have appreciated an OFFICIAL route to use to do this, rather than our custom field method.
