I assume you're referring to the F4 lookup on Primary Tech from the SM Service Site? That lookup uses a special view (PREHFullName) that bypasses PR Employee data security so that SM users can see the limited data in that lookup (name, empl #). The Name field is one field, so sorting by first name wouldn't be so simple. Brent is correct, it *could* be done. But without customization at all, you could use an * as a wild card and just type the first name you're looking for in the filter bar. Alternately, you could create your technician IDs by first name...as that field accepts text. That tech ID is the default sort!
If you have the UD module, you're able to customize these things. You can't modify the standard lookup, but you can copy it, fix it to suit your needs then use your new lookup on your form.
Support can probably help you with this if you have the UD module.
