6.16 Upgrade Overrides our own System Defaults in SM Flat Price Revenue. Taxable box does not tick

Prior to the 6.16 update the SM Flat Price Revenue Screen used to open before saving flat price work orders & quotes. We would allocate a percentage to a cost type category and set the ‘Taxable’ box so it would default to be checked each time.

Now the Flat Price revenue screen does not open automatically, the category defaults to ‘Labour’ and the ‘Taxable’ field will not check automatically despite our systems override settings.

As there is now no prompt to open this box and no tax default, invoices are generated without GST unless staff remember to make these manual changes.

Enable us to set our own cost type category/taxable defaults or default the taxable option when work orders specify tax code.

You can set the default split on Agreement Types. It would be nice if we could set that for Flat Price WO Scopes in SM Company Parameters (or Call Types?). I agree this (as designed) issue is a big deal for many customers. The previous complaint of having to fill out that revenue split manually was valid, but this change made it much worse for those that use that revenue split.

Thanks for the information Gary. Being able to default the flat price line values is the main concern. If that cannot be done via F3 Defaults anymore then perhaps being able to set flat price defaults in SM Company Parameters or somewhere similar would work. Alternatively, re-implement the original flat price functionality where the window opens automatically and F3 defaults work, and allow the user the option to choose the desired behavior in SM Company Parameters.

Apologies - #82394 is an internal Dev issue number - not customer facing.

We heard from a number of customers that the pop up behavior of the flat price revenue form was problematic - happening too often or when it was not desired or relevant. A change/fix was made requiring user action to call up the form (click on Split button). It now appears, additional work is needed to either improve control over loading the form or setting the taxable default at another level (i.e. F3 defaults won't apply unless the form is loaded).

Any additional thoughts/suggestions on how to implement this would be welcomed.

Gary, if you're referring to an issue #, I can't find an issue with number 82394 on the issue tracker.

I second Whitley, this is not fixed. Here's how to recreate the problem:

    1) fill out a work order with the required information 2) fill out the scope with the required information 3) change the price method to Flat Price 4) enter the price 5) click the Split button and manually change the values

Step 5 is where the issue is. We're trying to set System Override values for the fields on the Split form and they are not being obeyed. As it is stated in the idea, the Flat Price Split window used to open automatically when changing the scope to flat price and the field values would get filled in with the system override values. Now the values are always set to system defaults and there is extra work to make changes to the split.

    Hi Garry,

I have tested this in 6.18.3 and the box still does not automatically open nor does the 'taxable' box default as ticked when we have a system override set to check the box. Fixed Value is set to 'Y'. Can you please clarify?

The billing under service management is cumbersome enough without this issue.  We will certainly miss tax on our billings.  This is not acceptable.  Why would you make this change?

Please fix this problem as soon as possible.   There are already too many entries required in the billing program.  This tax issue requires more data entry.
