Our company assigns Use Tax on material invoices in AP when the vendor does not charge sales tax, perhaps because they are out of state. We owe this Use Tax regardless of if the item is billable or not in SM. When a material invoice that has Use Tax from AP is applied to an SM Work Order, the Work Order is properly costed to include both the base amount plus the Use Tax liability. BUT, when that item is later checked "non-billable", the system automatically reverses the costing of Use Tax on that Work Order for that line. This results in a GL entry that I have to manually reverse in the GL module. I find it completely inappropriate to assume that every user would want this automatic reversal happening. We still owe the Use Tax and must pay it. And I don't even have a way to correct the cost on the Work Order. If this is truly a function that some customers want, could there at least be an option to turn this feature off?
