I think the time has come to act on this suggestion!
This would be great, we have some employees who may work days for half the week and nights for the second half of the week depending on what the job is requiring, it would be nice to have shift as also an option so we don't have to override an employee for each time card entry.
Agreed. Should be able to generate add-on pay (as opposed to defining a pay rate) for shift differentials.
Same issue, shift is a great way to differentiate between different workers working as something else when called for (Kim is a normal worker, but today he had to step up and act as a lead hand and gets an extra 5% of his base rate).
Having add-on earnings be applied to a shift wouldn't require us to calculate a blended rate for all the different combinations into variable earnings.
Also a flat amount, and just based on the "shift" entry.
