It takes us forever to complete a payroll. You should be able to set up a standard payroll pay period and import time, calculate the deductions, press one button to create the direct deposit file and send the pay stubs. Once PTO rate is assigned, it should just process on it's own without the press of a button or the creation of a batch to be posted.

I agree, the amount of processing steps steps are insane. It makes it extremely difficult to train people in the use of the payroll. The process needs to be more automated.
