Increase performance when processing SM Invoices

Problem

Processing agreements each month means pushing 60-70 invoices through. Hitting the "Process" button locks Viewpoint for a solid 15 minutes, during which time we can't take service calls (the lifeblood of a service company).

 

Workarounds (not good)

  • Smaller batches (stretches the entire process into a longer time span)
  • Processing after office hours (overtime?)
  • Hire additional personnel ($$)

 

What we'd love to see

  • A way to NOT FREEZE Viewpoint while it's processing invoices
    • Perhaps spawn a new thread on the client?
    • Allow the user to continue working in other areas of the client while the "Invoice Processing" is happening.
  • QUICKER processing of invoices (perhaps look into more set-based processes, and fewer cursor based flows?)
