It would be great if there was a way to note in PR Time Card Entry when an employee called-out, and then be able to run a report to show the number of hours or days said employee missed unexpectedly.

This can be tracked with a no pay Earn Code. Exclude the Earn Code from the taxes so the tracked hours don't show up on tax reports. The PR Report of Earnings report would show you the total hours for a selected time period. If you want a detailed report, you may need a custom report. I'd be happy to create a report for you at no charge.
