Need to be able to indicate in the HRM Employee Portal if certain benefit options require special handling if selected in certain scenarios.
For example, for voluntary life insurance, if the employee is a new hire, any amount selected above $100k requires a special approval process using an Evidence of Insurability (EOI) form. This is indicated with an asterisk beside those higher amounts in the dropdown. However, a different set of rules apply for existing employees. If an existing employee already has voluntary life insurance coverage, he/she can go up $10k without submitting an EOI, but only up to a total of $100k. Beyond that, an EOI must be submitted for approval, so only those amounts above $100k have an asterisk.. On the other hand, if the existing employee does not currently have the coverage and would like to enroll, all amounts require an EOI for approval and an asterisk appears beside all amounts in the dropdown. If any amount that requires an EOI is selected, explanation text appears that notifies the employee of this.
Also, display the payroll deduction amount for the coverage if the selected option is eventually approved beside the amount that is currently charged.
