Please create a new subledger for loans. Most construction businesses have loans attached to each piece of purchased equipment and/or fleet vehicles. These amortize down predictably. I think of it as being similar to a FA subledger, which warehouses the assets and depreciates them predictably over time. Same for loans, just the other side of the ledger. A debt subledger would auto-post the monthly payment, interest expense, and loan balance reduction, as well as auto-populate the current portion and long term portion of debt to the company-level balance sheet. I'm tagging this to HQ since it doesn't seem to fit in any of the existing modules listed in the dropdown below.
