In the PM Interface program, the interface options to validate and post appear to be accessible by all users. Since the majority of users can access this program, could restrictions be set for select users to approve items to be interfaced? This would be in an effort to prevent inexperienced or unauthorized users from interfacing items in error. This could be a way of limiting items to interface based on a users access to this program.
This could be of a benefit to project management and their support staff. As an example: Project management would be more inclined to have access to approve and post commitments to both the client ledger and subcontract ledger. Whereas the support staff would have limited access to the PM interface. Thus, support staff would potentially only have the ability to see items such as subcontracted change orders that can be validated and posted to the subcontractor ledger.
Perhaps the filter option could default to certain tasks depending on the users credentials within Vista. Ultimately, if access was to be limited on this program less potential errors could be made.

I think this is a good idea and could be accomplished, as Garland says, a few different ways. Mainly we are just trying to separate ACO (Owner) items from Subcontract items.
