F1 on user defined field should take user to a page explaining custom fields and explain that they should talk to their vista administrator.

I concur, very useful! We would LOVE something like this.
Looks like it might have even been the first wish for "Platform": https://vistaerp.ideas.aha.io/ideas/PF-I-1
:-)
This is a fantastic idea, the page would be intended to not only explain custom fields but how/when and which fields to enter data into. Each organization might have their process slightly tailored to fit their needs and having the ability to be able to link a custom document would be very, useful.
Or potentially have another screen open where an admin in the custom fields section can enter in notes and it pops up.
I think a combination of both depending on the data type.
So if it's a date, explain that it is a custom field and for it's specific use to ask someone in the company , but it is a date field and explain what type of entry can be captured and what special characters can do etc "+ for next day"
This is a good idea. Are you intending for the explanatory page to explain the specific definition of what type of data should go in each custom field? Or more generically, just a definition of what custom fields are and to speak to the admin about what specific fields are intended to capture?
