SM Rate Template: We'd liketo see consistent markup/discount fields plus usable "advanced" areas for all 6 types of lines.

Current Condition:

For Equipment Rates you have Markup Percent with an Advanced button that opens a nice override per category/equipment.
For Labor Rates you have a Rate with an Advanced button where you can override via Tech, Craft, Class, or PayType.
For Material Rates you have a few dropdowns and a Percent, then an Advanced button where we can put in break points, and also do overrides by category, material, or SM Cost Type
For Non-Material Purchases you have Markup Percent, and an Advanced button where percentages can be specified per Cost Type.
For Standard Items you have Overrides per standard item.
For Misc lines, there is nothing.

How would I set a DISCOUNT for Equipment? How would I set a DISCOUNT for MISC lines? How would I set a DISCOUNT for Standard Items? How about a flat rate for all Equipment?

What are we looking for?

Per Line Type:

A way to do a Markup Percent OR Specific Rate. (one or the other, our choice)
A way to further break down how the Rate/Percent is applied
- Split out by Break Points
- Specified via a filter where one can specify categorical fields like SM COST TYPE or CATEGORY

An OVERALL [Percent Markup]?

What I propose:

I think SM Rate Template should look something like the attachment entitled "SM Rate Template", and the Advanced button would open something similar to the "SM Rate Override" series of images.

Consistency is dearly needed in this area, and this programs lack of discount/markup on the service management side is driving our billing folks crazy.

Do you (Viewpoint) have any plans to improve in this area?
