In a previous version, we couldn't perform the PAY STUB NOTIFY (PSN) process until the DIRECT DEPOSIT PRINT (DDP) was complete. This is useful as if you run the PSN before the DDP is complete then some employees will not receive an attachment to their email notification.
Without something stopping us progressing, we don't know when the DDP is complete so would need to go and check via Employee Pay Sequence Control or other, to ensure they have completed so we know we are safe to run the PSN process. This is a time consuming process.
The recent update has taken away this feature and allows us to perform PSN before DDP is complete.
Please reinstate the previous feature.

We are very new to VIEWPOINT - have been live with payroll since mid April 2023 and other modules only since 1 July 2023 - so very very new. We have definitely discussed using the Employee Portal for payslip/paystub access so would be interested in this idea. It's only timing for us as there is a lot to get stood up for the whole system so are focusing on critical areas first.
I'm interested in your reaction to the following - I believe it would address the timing concern you have raised plus more.
We are considering moving to a scheme where an employee's DD pay stub is rendered on demand via a web portal in lieu of generating, attaching, and storing an image. This would significantly improve the performance of DDP. DD pay stub data (hours, earnings, dedns, etc.) would be preserved in payroll tables as the DD/EFT is assigned and your custom DD reports would continue to be supported. You would no longer have DD images stored on your system, but the data required to generate them will remain for as long as you maintain payroll history. PSN would no longer send an attached .pdf, but email would instead include a link to a secure site where the employee would log on to see their pay data.
